Taiwan endless shoes designer Sophie Hong’s boutique resembles a refined jewelry box with a small, precious interior, displaying her unique hued silk fashion creations. British designer Stella McCartney’s shop window in the Galerie de Valois features her line-drawn faces a motif used on sweaters, tops and jackets. A recent display included a casual look pairing a sweater with her Tomboy Diamond Jeans and other signature clothing. Pierre Hardy, who previously designed shoe collections for Dior and Hermes, creates striking, trendy shoes for men and women, including a spunky high-heeled shoe in a window earlier this fall. The Corto Moltedo boutique has cool, luxury bags by designer Gabrielecorto Moltedo. American designer Rick Owens captivates shoppers with a trompe l’oeil statue of himself dressed in hip garb and viewable from the shop window.

Nobody in need isdenied. The center also feeds about another 8,000 people who come to the senior center for lunch three days aweek. We are here to ensure no senior goes hungry, said Alison McArthur, the centers executivedirector. The program receives state and federal money and grants, but those dont cover the costs, especially as grocery prices increase. It also gets donations and businesssponsors. McArthur said this is the first year the program has broken even, but that might not last long as winter approaches and more people are in need offood. Thats why the center is excited about the fundraising potential of the fashionshow.
